What it means
Slimed out means betrayed, set up or treated badly by someone you trusted. A friend who ditched you, a partner who lied and a teammate who left you hanging all fit. The slang explainer meaningiffied lists betrayal, deception, disloyalty and disrespect, and says tone and community change how the phrase lands. The same words carry a harsher meaning in rap and street talk. Wiktionary lists "slime out" as a transitive slang verb meaning "to kill," and Know Your Meme says the phrase essentially describes killing someone for acting nefariously, most commonly by being backstabbed or killed, typically by being shot. A violent reading needs support from the rest of the message, such as a named person, a threat or a plan. If a message looks like a real threat, ask the speaker what they meant, and if someone may be in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. In games, memes and voice chat the phrase is exaggerated. Slang.net says the related "slimed" can mean losing a match or being humiliated, often in a jokey, theatrical way. Aimed at a person ("you slimed me out") it is an accusation. Between friends after a prank or a lost round it can be a joke. It is informal slang, so keep it out of workplace writing unless you are quoting it.

Where it came from
The noun "slime," meaning a close friend or associate, comes first. XXL's October 2020 history of the word has N.O.R.E. calling someone "slime" in the video for his 1999 single "Blood Money Pt. 3," and credits him with introducing the term to hip-hop. In an August 2010 AllHipHop interview, the Harlem rapper Vado said the word came first from his friend G-Dogz, and that N.O.R.E. also used it and "passed me the torch." No single originator is documented.
Young Thug kept the word prominent. XXL points to his three-volume "Slime Season" mixtape series in 2015 and 2016 and the 2018 "Slime Language" compilation, and AP reports that "Slime Language 2" reached No. 1 in 2021. The exact phrase "slimed out" has no firm first use. Know Your Meme records an Urban Dictionary definition added January 15, 2021. The documented path runs from New York rap to Atlanta rap to TikTok, memes and gaming chat.
Drake and SZA released "Slime You Out" in September 2023. TIME says the title refers to using someone for sex. That is the meaning inside the song, and a message that names the song will usually mean it.
No single person is credited, the origin is commonly reported.
