What it means
Simp can be a noun or verb: someone may be called a simp, or said to simp for a person, celebrity, brand, or idea. It is often used teasingly, but historically it has been a gendered insult aimed at men judged too submissive to women. The term is frequently overapplied to ordinary kindness, affection, or respect, which does not by itself make someone a simp.
