# Word deep-dives

- [biblically accurate](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/biblically-accurate/): Biblically accurate describes something rendered strange, elaborate, or unsettling, in the many-eyed and many-winged style of the biblical-angel meme. It is usually playful and often admiring, and online it rarely means faithful to scripture at all.
- [chud](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/chud/): Chud is an insult for someone seen as obnoxious, boorish, or a loser, and online it very often carries a political charge aimed at people the speaker considers far right. It is rude but not a slur, and it comes from a 1984 horror film.
- [mog](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/mog/): To mog someone is to outshine them so completely that they come off worse just by standing nearby, usually in looks, height, or build. It is praise for the person doing it and a slight against the person it happens to, which is why the same sentence can flatter and sting.
- [chopped](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/chopped/): Chopped usually means unattractive or rough-looking, and aimed at a person it is a genuine insult that no one should mistake for a joke. A second live sense means cut, beaten, or counted out, which is where the word actually came from.
- [pupper](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/pupper/): A pupper is a puppy, or a small dog, or any dog when the person talking is being affectionate. It is deliberately cutesy internet baby talk from the mid-2010s DoggoLingo style, and using it now reads as either sincere or knowingly retro.
- [polyester](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/polyester/): Slang for something that comes across as cheap, generic, low effort, or fake, whether that is a choppy TikTok edit, a staged lifestyle post, or someone's whole online persona.
- [twin](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/twin/): Called twin by somebody who looks nothing like you, it means friend. It is an affectionate form of address signalling likeness, shared outlook, or a sibling-like bond, and it makes no claim about appearance at all.
- [locked in](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/locked-in/): Locked in means fully focused and seriously committed to the task in front of you, not trapped or stuck. Being told to lock in is a nudge to concentrate, and being described as locked in is a compliment about focus you already have.
- [quiet on the creek](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/quiet-on-the-creek/): A joking way to say keep it down, keep it low-key, or don't say a word about it, from Saucy Santana's memory of staying silent while fishing so the noise wouldn't scare the fish.
- [larping](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/larping/): Accusing someone of performing an identity, interest, or expertise that isn't genuine, when they have never actually lived it.
- [rage bait](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/rage-bait/): Content made deliberately to provoke anger or outrage so people will react, comment, or share it, increasing its reach.
- [clock it](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/clock-it/): To notice, work out, or call attention to a telling detail, especially one that reveals what's really going on.
