# Word deep-dives

- [no shot](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/no-shot/): No shot means no way, or there is no chance that is true, most often a reaction to something hard to believe. Said before a future action, it means a refusal.
- [in my feels](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/in-my-feels/): In my feels means you are emotionally affected or caught up in a feeling, whether that is sad, nostalgic, romantic, or excited. Context decides which.
- [homeslice](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/homeslice/): Homeslice means a close friend, used to greet or talk about someone you like. It's old-fashioned, affectionate slang for a friend, and it isn't an insult.
- [boutta](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/boutta/): Boutta and bouta are both informal spellings of the contraction "about to," meaning something is about to happen. Neither is standard written English.
- [wildin](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/wildin/): Wildin means acting unreasonably, excessively, or unbelievably, almost always as a callout that someone went too far. It can shift to hype at a party or game.
- [gg](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/gg/): Gg is short for "good game," typed after a match ends as a sign of respect from either side. Sent early, or paired with "ez," it turns into a taunt instead.
- [YOLO](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/yolo/): YOLO stands for "you only live once," used to justify or push for a spontaneous, indulgent, or knowingly reckless-sounding choice, right now, because life is finite.
- [drip](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/drip/): Drip is a noun for an impressively stylish look, especially an outfit, shoes or jewelry. It is usually a compliment, as in nice drip, she has drip or new drip.
- [WTF](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/wtf/): WTF stands for "what the f---," a reaction to shock, confusion, anger, or disbelief, almost never a literal question. It is rude, especially aimed at someone.
- [copium](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/copium/): Copium is a joking, imaginary drug people are said to be huffing when they refuse to accept a loss or a hard truth. Calling someone that is usually an insult.
- [tf](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/tf/): Tf is short for "the f---", a swear that makes a phrase stronger, as in what tf or get tf out. It is rude, and it is usually about a situation.
- [pluh](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/pluh/): Pluh is a meme sound before it is a word: the word "plug" clipped short, taken from a hip-hop producer tag. Typed as a reply it works as a deliberately empty response, which is why a bare pluh feels impossible to read.
