# Word deep-dives

- [deets](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/deets/): Deets is slang for details, the specific information someone wants or is giving. It is usually logistics, like time, place or cost, not automatically gossip.
- [nunya](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/nunya/): Nunya is short for "none of your," as in "none of your business." It is a reply that refuses to answer a question, playful between friends and blunt anywhere else.
- [ong](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/ong/): Ong is short for "on God," a typed oath meaning "I swear this is true" or "I really mean it." It can also stand alone as an emphatic way of agreeing with someone.
- [griddy](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/griddy/): The griddy is a celebration dance of quick alternating heel taps with swinging arms. To hit the griddy is to do it, usually after a score, a win or a big moment.
- [it's giving](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/its-giving/): "It's giving X" means the thing in front of you evokes X, whatever X is, good or bad. Bare "it's giving" means it is landing well, almost always a compliment.
- [preach](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/preach/): Preach is a one-word reply that means you strongly agree with what someone just said, like an amen. It is friendly support unless it answers something absurd.
- [ijbol](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/ijbol/): IJBOL stands for "I just burst out laughing," a stronger claim than a routine lol. People post it under something that actually got a real laugh out of them.
- [locals](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/locals/): Locals is fandom slang for people outside a group who don't know its in-jokes, and plain English for people who live somewhere. Context tells you which.
- [cheugy](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/cheugy/): Cheugy describes a person, outfit, post or aesthetic that reads as dated and try-hard, like it is still chasing a version of cool that already passed.
- [ez](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/ez/): Ez is short for "easy." Sent to an opponent right after a win, it is a taunt claiming the match took no effort; otherwise it is just casual shorthand for easy.
- [salty](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/salty/): Salty means resentful, bitter, or annoyed about a loss, correction, or slight, per Dictionary.com and Merriam-Webster. Usually a mild dig, rarely a real insult.
- [sick](https://genzdecoded.com/blog/sick/): Sick means exceptionally good, impressive, or cool, praising a trick, song, or look. It also means ill or disturbing, so the words around it decide which.
